Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ)

The Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ) is Africa’s First Automotive City, located in the Gauteng Province, the green City of Tshwane, South Africa’s Capital City. It is an attractive world-class automotive city and a preferred investment destination for the automotive industry on the African Continent. Its proximity to an established automotive industry allows for increased economies of scale and scope, thereby lowering the cost of doing business. The SEZ offers world-class customised solutions, incentives, support services and systems for manufacturers seeking excellence, productive and progressive location.
The SEZ is a catalyst for employment, transformation and socio-economic development and industry growth. The Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC)

The Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) is a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) which is an agency of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development.
The AIDC was established as a support centre to strengthen global competitiveness in the local automotive industry and to bolster the position of Gauteng as an automotive industry destination of choice. The AIDC has accelerated economic growth within the automotive industry through strategic partnerships with government, non-governmental agencies, and industry leaders.

Menlyn Maine precinct

The Menlyn Maine precinct covers 315,000 square metres near the Menlyn Shopping Mall, and is split into commercial, residential and urban entertainment sectors, while maintaining parklands throughout. The title of “SA’s first green city” comes from every building in the project getting at least 4 stars from the Green Building Council of SA – an independent body whose rating system aims to assess the environmental attributes of a new commercial space and is based on building design and construction.

Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub offers a number of incubation programmes in the Bioeconomy (agro processing and pharmaceutical), Smart Industries (ICT and advanced manufacturing) and Green Economy (Water purification, waste management and renewable energy). In addition, The Innovation Hub operates a range of enterprise development, skills development and innovation enabling programmes both in the science park and throughout the Gauteng region.
